Of The Diverse Exhibition Opening Night

On the 8th November we had the opening night of our NMIT level 6 end of year exhibition at the Refinery Art Space.

It was an amazing night, with over 150 people attending, and 22 of my classmates exhibiting a hugely diverse range of artworks.
The exhibition was run by our class, with teams all responsible for different aspects of the planning and execution of the event. I was part of the curatorial team, along with Ruby Bathan and Elaine Ang, who worked alongside Ann Braunsteiner from the Refinery, planned out the gallery space and where all the works would be placed. This was an amazing opportunity and experience, and something that I love doing.

Lavender’s Eggs Children’s Book

I have just launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to get my first children’s book published!!

Susanne Payne has written the story, about her very special bantam hen, Lavender, who liked to do things her own way, regardless of how this affected Sue 🙂

I have illustrated and designed the book layout, and am very excited to (hopefully) see it all come to fruition!!

Latest NMIT Project – ’29’

I have just finished a 14 week project for my Bachelor of Arts and Media course I am doing at NMIT (2nd year, level 6), we were given a pretty open brief, just needing to explore a topic that fell under the heading of communication and looking at either identity, narrative or politics.

I chose to look at the Pike River disaster and combined my two main focus’s of illustration and graphic design.
