Lavender’s Eggs

Lavender’s Eggs is a children’s picture book written by Susanne Payne and illustrated by Penny Royal.

Lavender is a small hen, whose high ideas, cause Nanny considerable inconvenience.

Lavender is an independent bantam hen who lives on a sheep farm in Paturau, Golden Bay, NZ with Susanne Payne (Nanny). Susanne has written a true story about one of her adventures that Penny Royal has illustrated and turned into a children’s book.

This is the first book Susanne has written, but she has been entertaining friends and family with her adventures she shares on Facebook for quite some time.

This is also the first book that Penny has illustrated and designed, and has been completed as part of her studies towards a Bachelor of Arts and Media at NMIT.

The book will be a 20cmx25cm, 32 page, perfect bound, full colour, soft cover book.

The illustrations have all been done with watercolour and ink and then digitally touched up

Penny is self publishing the book in Nelson, New Zealand. With the book being printed in Australia at Blurb.com and the initial print run being crowdfunded on Kickstarter.

The crowdfunding campaign will be launched as part of the ‘Of the Diverse’ Exhibition at the Refinery Gallery in Nelson, on the 8th November 2017.

The book will be available through the Kickstarter campaign for a special introductory price of $22 inc postage within NZ. The book will then retail for $25 +postage/shipping.
